Before the decision.
Independent examination of consequential decisions before capital, reputation, or institutional direction is committed.
The decision begins before the decision.
Once a decision hardens into commitment, revisiting what sits beneath it can become harder and costlier. Before commitment, its assumptions can still be examined on their merits.
An independent examination may surface what an established framing overlooks: an assumption carrying more weight than it should, an alternative dismissed too early, an interest shaping the advice you receive.
IHSAN examines what happened before the decision became a decision.
Its purpose is not to make the decision for the principal. Its purpose is to make the decision more examinable.
A Decision Examination is commissioned before a consequential decision becomes strategy, transaction, allocation, policy, or irreversible commitment.

When the decision carries consequence.
A Decision Examination may be commissioned before:
Independence
We stop where others begin.
IHSAN does not formulate strategy. We do not implement. We do not participate in resulting procurement. We do not seek or accept work that follows from what you decide. Any further engagement is separate and only at your request.
This separation is deliberate. It is the basis of our independence.
